Built-in, drawer and over-the-range microwaves that run but don't heat, ignore the keypad, or trip at the door. A built-in unit is worth repairing far more often than a countertop one.
Common faults
A failed high-voltage diode, capacitor or magnetron. Microwaves hold a dangerous charge, so we discharge and test safely before replacing anything.
A worn touch membrane or a failed control board. We check the power supply first.
Door interlock switches wear out; it's one of the most common microwave repairs.
The vent fan motor, a switch or the light socket, just like a range hood.
How we diagnose
We test the door switches, the high-voltage circuit and the controls with the unit discharged. Then you get a written price.
Built-in, drawer and over-the-range microwaves are usually worth repairing. A countertop microwave rarely is, and we tell you before you pay for more than the diagnostic.
Pricing
$99 diagnostic visit, credited in full when you go ahead with the repair. Parts and labor are quoted in writing first. If a part has to be ordered, a deposit holds the booking and the balance is due when the job is done.
